Context

A single feature here usually touches web, mobile, and the API at once. I read the requirement documents first, then test all three and make sure the data matches in the database.

API endpoints for the same features
Database verification

Out of scope

Automated and performance testing are not part of my role.

Approach

Manual testing on web and mobile, API testing in Postman, and queries in DBeaver. I report bugs to developers and go over them with the QA Lead.

The two cards below are illustrative examples. They are rewritten in general terms with dummy data, not copies of real test cases or tickets.

Title: Request without a token is rejected
Precondition: An endpoint that requires login. Postman is set up.
Test data: Request without an authorization header.
Steps: Send a request to the endpoint without a token.
Check the status code and response body.
Expected result: Status 401 with a clear error message. No data is returned.

Title: Changes in a web form aren't saved when an optional field is cleared
Severity: Major
Priority: High
Environment: Staging, Chrome
Steps: Open the edit form with a dummy account.
Clear one optional field and change another field.
Save, then check the record in the database.
Expected result: The changes are saved and the optional field is empty in the database.
Actual result: A success message appears, but the database record doesn't change.

What I did

I analyze requirements, write and run test cases on web, mobile, and API, verify data in the database, report bugs, and coordinate with the QA Lead and developers.
